Often, ladybugs seek refuge from the cold winter months inside heated buildings and homes. They crawl inside exterior cracks and nest there for the winter.

Identification

Size: Typically, ¼ inch long and round in shape

Color: Wings are usually red or orange with dark spots. Sometimes, ladybugs have no spots at all.

Habits

Ladybugs feed on aphids and other plant pests found outside in our yards. However, when an excessive number find their way into our homes, there is a need to call in a professional to treat the problem.
