Tips for Control
General tips for limiting infestation:
A HOME Pest Control certified technician can locate the infestation and assess the problem. An effective approach for control will be tailored to your specific needs. Here are some steps you can take until your fabric pest problem is remedied:
• If at all possible, don’t store boxes of clothes
in the attic, garage or basement.
• If you need to store clothing in boxes, completely clean boxes before
storage and seal all corners and openings with tape.
• Clan woolen and natural fiber clothing prior to storage.
• In closets, cover natural fiber clothing with individual plastic covers.
• If possible, store clothing in large zippered plastic bags.
• Use mothballs to deter pests. However, they do leave a residual odor
that may require dry cleaning.
