HOME PEST CONTROL HAS THE ANSWER...

When should we order the CL-100 inspection?

You should order the Cl-100 ("Termite Letter") about 2-3 weeks prior to your closing date. This gives you time to cure any problems (infestation and/or damage) that are reported on the inspection.

How long is the letter valid?
The report can only be used for 45 days from the date of inspection. However, the inspection is not a warranty against future infestation. We can offer treatment options to you or the new owner to protect your investment.

What if we do need treatment and/or repairs?
We can help with that. We offer the latest technology in termite control. The termite treatment comes with a damage repair warranty that is transferable to the new owner at no extra fee. We are also a licensed contractor. We guarantee our work and offer a fair and reasonable price.

Why if there are no active termites or just in debris, does the house still have to be treated?
If a house shows signs of termite activity, but no signs of a treatment, it needs to be treated. Termites are re-infesting insects. If you do not have a thorough treatment, they will come back. Termites in debris will move to other areas to find food for the colony. The structure needs to be protected against future damage and cure the current infestation.

Why do we charge a transfer fee on existing treatments?
A transfer fee gives you the opportunity to assume the existing warranty. It saves you money. You do not have to pay the entire cost of treating the home.

Why are some warranties not transferable?
We want to be able to offer the same great services to the new owner of your home. Our general policy is that the treatment must first be less than five years old. Treatment standards change and technology improves. We want to continue to offer the best protection for the home. We also look at the history on the home. The transferability of each warranty is evaluated individually.

When should we order a pre-inspection?
When you have listed or are getting ready to list the house, you should call for a pre-inspection. Then you will know what work might need to be done prior to closing. Home Pest Control can submit a competitive estimate for repairs and/or treatment.
